COBARDÍA
El temor a una turba embravecida, hizo cambiar el veredicto que había tomado Pilato con respecto a las acusaciones presentadas en contra de Jesucristo por los líderes religiosos del pueblo hebreo. En los diferentes juicios realizados en contra del Señor, tanto por judíos como por autoridades romanas, nunca lo hallaron culpable de un delito digno de ser sentenciado a muerte. Al no encontrar culpa alguna en Jesucristo, en el ultimo juicio realizado por Pilato, quería dejarlo en libertad, pero las feroces presiones de la muchedumbre judía instigada por los líderes religiosos ahogaron sus intentos, y sentenció a muerte a Jesucristo como lo pedía la muchedumbre. Pilato al ceder a las presiones de los judíos, demostró ser un hombre cobarde, que no le importaba condenar a un inocente con tal de resguardar su integridad física. Al igual que Pilato, algunos creyentes cobardemente niegan o esconden su fe en Jesucristo, para no sufrir algún rechazo social por parte de las personas inconversas. Lucas 23:23-24.
