LA MENTIRA
Al aceptar a Jesucristo como su Señor y Salvador, los creyentes se despojan del ropaje de su vieja naturaleza, y se visten del ropaje de su nueva naturaleza en Cristo. Por eso en esta nueva naturaleza, el creyente no debe practicar las cosas de su vieja naturaleza como mentir a su prójimo. Pues mentir los unos a los otros interrumpe la unidad que tienen en Cristo, así mismo destruye la confianza. Además, echa abajo las relaciones armónicas, incluso puede conducir a serios conflictos en el cuerpo de Cristo. Por eso en su nueva naturaleza, el creyente ni siquiera debe hacer correr un rumor o chisme que haya escuchado de su hermano de la fe. En su lugar debe interrumpirlo para que no se siga expandiendo como cuan fuego se expande en un bosque de árboles secos. Tampoco debe decir o inventar algo para edificar su propia imagen. El creyente debe andar siempre en la verdad, y sus palabras deben ser para edificar a los que se encuentran a su alrededor, pues esto es vivir en el conocimiento de la imagen de su Creador. Colosenses 3:9-10.
